Benny C said...: Yes, a fantastic game but a bit worrying that it had to be a comeback. That's 2 games on the bounce where we have had to come from behind.

Bit of a worry as Sami seemed a bit off the pace yesterday. Still, Man USA and Arsenal both had the mentality of we will score more goals than you when they were flying high.

As long as we can keep that up, all is good.

Nice to see Pongolle back in the mix.

I agree that Alonso is a massive signing. Passes well, is strong on the ball (unlike another diminuitive spaniard I can think of) and can strike crackers.

Dirty Dan said...: alonso's both goals were amazing and as someone's just said above lets not forget Flo Po's contribution! Luton did themselves proud, I was reading their manager's comments before the game and he sounded like he didn't believe they'll win this one (fairenough) but he did say that we'll try and do our best and their best was too good for us for the first half! To win games like these they'll need to play teams off the park for the whole 90 minutes though.

Gerrard falling over/Double take once he realised alonso final effort was heading in was hilarious.

Although a bit dissappointed with the defence (or lack of it) it was good to see the side turning it on when they really had to, and almosts scoring at will in the second half.

Great game for nuetrals and fans of both teams alike.
