WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Congressional Democrats blasted former Education Secretary William Bennett on Thursday for saying that aborting "every black baby in this country" would reduce the crime rate, and demanded their Republican counterparts do the same.

oh my god...can't believe someone in such a high position can be so thick to say something as brainless as that. He deserved to be slammed from every angle. Says alot about the US govt too....
If you wanted to reduce crime, you could -- if that were your sole purpose -- you could abort every black baby in this country and your crime rate would go down.
Sean that does sound wrong still - sounds like thats what he thinks is the solution to the increasing crime rate. He's been quoted verbatim apparently.
Sean is correct--the quote is taken out of context. He was saying the total opposite about how abortions--based on a BOOK OUT THERE THAT IS ARGUING THAT ABORTIONS REDUCE CRIME IN GENERAL--do not do that. His comments have been taken out of context.
Regardless, statistics show that blacks commit--percentage wise--more crime than any other racial and ethnic minority. That's MY opinion. Btw, that is NOT what Bennet was saying. LISTEN to his entire program.
Sometimes your subconscious mind or get you in trouble. In my opinion. That's why formulating thoughts before you speak is essential
