Welcome home Big Ears, We've missed you!
Having somewhat recovered from the post match celebrations, here's some good news for fellow scousers and liverpool supporters all over the world.
Pressure has increased on UEFA to include Liverpool in the Champions League next season after G14, the grouping of elite European clubs, called for the Reds to be allowed to defend their trophy.
G14 was the body that forced UEFA to expand the Champions League in 1998 by threatening to set up a breakaway competition and now they have thrown their weight behind Liverpool, one of their founder members.
A G14 spokesman said: "We support the desire to see Liverpool defend their trophy and the matter will be raised at our management board meeting next month. We believe UEFA should look at ways of allowing this to happen."
The organisation is made up of 18 powerful clubs including Real Madrid, AC Milan and Bayern Munich - as well as Manchester United and Arsenal - and a formal approach will be made to UEFA after the G14 meeting in Amsterdam on June 9. More...

Meanwhile the champs returned to the merseyside yesterday and paraded the trophy to the sea of red supporters.

One snarky question... how come Jerzy Dudek's English is easier to understand than Jamie Carragher's
;p
Seriously though you guys are fans. We have nothing that can touch the intensity of your fans. Normally American football is considered to have the "most rabid" fans in the US, but look at the Superbowl. It's played on a neutral site, and most of the fans are neutral. They may pick a team to root for, but for the most part the fans are whoever could afford tickets (which are ridiculously expensive). 50,000 Reds went all the way across a continent to go to this game. I'm not sure how many Milan fans were there, but they made some noise too. Unbelievable atmosphere.
Even I got goosebumps at the end of the coverage when they were playing "You'll Never Walk Alone" and showing player and fan shots. Big burly guys in Liverpool scarves sobbing with joy. The players dancing and cheering and making fools (in a good way) of themselves.
Also after rewatching the whole game, I realize how far down you guys were. Live, I had to work until about 4:00 CST. As the match started at 2:30 CST I got to the bar I watched it at 4:10 or so (and convinced the bartender that "yes I did want her to turn on soccer"). Hell I thought I was watching a "golden goal" overtime, so when I saw Dudek's save I thought that it literally saved the game (I know it basically did, but I don't think we need any proof miracles happen).
How long till they make the movie?
Lol Jamie Carragher is often referred to the scousest man in britain. He speaks in a very heavy scouse dialect and it doesn't help him speaking that quickly either.
Stephane Henchoz once said (ex lfc defender) 'Its good now everyone speaks english in the team but JAmie carragher, he speaks very strange english'
Football in this part of the world is religion mate. As shankly famously said, 'For those who think football is a matter of life and death, let me assure you, its much more important than that.'
And that is true. Football is in the blood of people, you'll see OAPs sitting in the stands all by themselves. You'll see kids barely old enough to understand the game. There was a piece in the news of how a liverpool fan spent 20 minutes getting medical attention to his 5 year old kid who had collapsed when liverpool scored the third goal.
It is more important than life and death.
And as for dudek, he's been forgiven im sure for all his past errors. This save will always be remembered and so will his wobbly legged dance.
You'll Never Walk Alone
