Liverpool 1 - 0 Arsenal

I know it probably hurts
Goose but we did piss all over you for most of the game before li'l Luis Garcia did what he does best, score yet another winner!

If goals continue to be scarce for Liverpool, they at least showed a keen sense of drama in the positioning of an overwhelmingly deserved winner. The match was in its 87th minute when the resistance of the superb Jens Lehmann was at last smashed. His save from one substitute Dietmar Hamann was excellent but he could not prevent another, Luis GarcĂa, from converting the rebound from an angle.

Had it not been for Lehmann, Liverpool would enjoy a far merrier record than the laboured figures of three goals from the past six Premiership matches. The German, who had saved a Steven Gerrard penalty in the first half, dived to tip an overhead kick from Harry Kewell round the post after 76 minutes. He could not, however, stifle the truth.

Is it just me or does every keeper we come up against produce a 'Man-of-the-Match' performace?

Remember the West Brom keeper from early in the season?

Or could it be that we need to either get new strikers or give the ones we have a right kick in the knackers.

Morientes hasn't done it, niether has Cisse. Crouch had a bit of a run there but he hasn't scored in a while either. I'm sure Fowler will find the net soon enough, and to be fair he looked sharp enough last night, but we just don't have a striker with the killer touch at the moment.

I'll be honest though and say that I'm pretty happy with the way the season is going so far.

Morientes likes shooting or heading the ball toward goalkeeper's body. Cisse can't score even as there's no goalkeeper! and Crouch...well, he likes bumping goalkeepers..

It's great beating the gooners, can't believe how shit they were. Now all we need to do is send our strikers (except god) to the nearest red light district for practising and see if they can score in a brothal and leave them there till they can, although they would need supervision.

It's just a little shame that our stikers can't get an ounce of luck. Not a deflection or easy rebound to be seen.

Sometimes, an little luck can kick-start a run. Remember Crouchy's "own-goal" earlier in the season. He then went on to score in quite a few games in-a-row.

Maybe someone needs to contact Mr Lampard and get some tips on deflections ...

it's a shame, really.
Nando, Crouch & Cisse were decent strikers before at their previous clubs.

Hopefully they will live up to the expectations soon.

Agree about the luck thing, we could do with some.

Out of the bunch we currently have, I personally feel Cisse's the only one who could come good, and thats only due to his pace. I don't think he'll stay with us beyond the summer though, he's too one-dimensional and Rafa wants a player who could link up play and get others involved too.

I've given up on Morientes. He's been with us long enough and if he still hasn't figured it out he probably never will. It happens to the best of players when they play in a league they're not comfortable with and he doesn't look like he is.

Crouch - Never expected a great deal from him although it would be nice if he could connect with his headers a little better, there's more to his game than just goals and he's a good utility player and should be treated as such - and would've been only if the other big name strikers (cisse + Morients) weren't firing blanks.

Fowler seems the only one who will probably get a few this season.
